Rainy Day

I have to begin this post with a depressing note:
I am being evicted from the UNH email service... it's official... college is over.

On the bright side! Please change my address (if you have it/ want to email me ever) to WMoseman@gmail.com

Awesome!

In other news! Today was a rainy day that we spent orienting ourselves. We broke out the compasses and set up an orientation course for the 5th graders coming on Saturday. Woof. 5th graders...

Anywho. I enjoyed the work! However no one else seemed to... except maybe Jonathan because he shares my affinity for the great outdoors! I remember back when I was an Environmental Science major in Tom Lee's class and had to do a whole bunch of this stuff! Came back to me like riding a bike!

Yesterday we hiked 6.3miles up and down the bluffs through the trails. Stewart (our main supervisor) lead us all over the woods! I have some great pictures that I forgot to bring with me tonight but I'll try to add asap! During our hike we did some work with clearing the trail and re-discovering where the trail leads. By the end of the day we were just trying to find our way out! We reached the top of the slope to find a maze of roads through a pine tree plantation and then 2.5 miles later we reached the road! I fell asleep as soon as the engine turned over.

Other than that... let's see... rock climbing was a blast! I can't remember if I already posted this on my last one but I'll tell you again anyways.
We had three routes set up (working with Ray and Anthony) and they were about 65ft. I had jess belaying me for her first time and as I started to climb and saw the slack in the line building, I have to admit I got a little nervous I was about to hit rock bottom... hard. BUT! She did awesome and I'm still here! Everyone did an awesome job climbing. It was great to see each individual try to figure out the route and get past different obstacles! I think I need to find a pair of shoes and start getting into bouldering like I said I would for the last few years.

Running has been going well. I can't describe how great it is to have some trails to run again. Although, Stewart said there has been reports of an animal noise in the park that may or may not be a mountain lion... Looks like I might be getting some speed training in too!! Yikes.

Janelle (our team leader) is headed home this weekend for a wedding so we're driving her to Nashville tomorrow and picking her up Sunday. I'm excited to get to see the city again and do some exploring! I know Noelle wants to go to the grand ole oprey but I told her I don't like Opera. haha i kid i kid. I'm excited! Lots to see and do!

Well, hope all is well with everyone and you're staying warm now that the colder months are upon us!!
